Poetry
David is a keen poet who has had numerous poems published. Below are some of his poems.
The Greatest Gift.
The greatest gift, a life a death,
A life laid down, Christ's dying breath,
He hung there, bare upon a tree,
He hangs there still, for all to see,
The choice is ours, for us to take,
The choice is ours, for us to make,
Where will you spend eternity?
The greatest gift, an empty tomb,
The Spirit life, the upper room,
An abundant life, for you, for me,
A brand new start, my destiny.
The choice is ours, what do we do?
The choice is ours, could it be true?
That Christ could set me free?
The greatest gift, the risen man,
The victory won, God's master plan,
At last we see, the devil flee,
All powers bow down, before the tree,
The choice is yours, to stay or fly,
The choice is yours, to live or die,
What will your decision be?

Easter Colours
The rock at Calvary was grey,
The cross, rough hewn and brown,
The nails, were long and black as sin,
The red blood flowed mingled down,
The skies were dark and overcast,
As Jesus Christ breathed His last,
'It is finished' was His final cry,
As lightning flashed across the sky.
The burial shroud lay empty, white,
The tomb was dark and dim,
Two Heavenly Angels viewed the sight,
As Peter looked within,
His Master gone, as He had said,
In three days risen from the dead,
The task complete, the victory won,
For you and me and everyone.

A Man Of No Reputation
He dies outside the city wall,
A man of no reputation.
He died the death of a criminal,
The man of no reputation.
He hung there suffering on a tree,
A man of no reputation.
He took our sin to set us free,
The man of no reputation.
He endured rejection from us all,
A man of no reputation.
He refused to curse, to shout or call,
The man of no reputation.
He did all this for you and me,
A man of no reputation.
So that we might truly see,
The man of no reputation.
And now, today, we reject Him still,
A man of no reputation.
Consider His call, a bitter pill,
The man of no reputation.
But God has exalted His name on high,
A man of no reputation.
And one day to Him our spirit's will fly,
The man of no reputation.
